| | Selective Portfolio  - Dual Screen Kiosk |
Sole programmer for the IBM "Money-Go-Round" dual-screen interactive kiosk, located near the entrance of the Toronto Stock Exchange building's "Stock Market Place" visitor centre.
Gary was sub-contracted to IBM for this freelance assignment by the Web Digital group.
Skills Demonstrated: | Lingo Programming (in Macromedia Director) |
  | Serial communications programming via DirectComm Xtra |
  | Efficient coordination with management, graphic artists and testers |
Kiosk development

  | Using Lingo, wrote two-way serial communications protocol routines by which independent input and overhead display applications, each running on a separate PC, communicated with each other |
  | Wrote both the touch-screen input application and the overhead display application, with the exception of some basic animation code |
  | All code was modular, making modifications and additions to the programs very simple. Gary also circumvented some basic Director limitations simulating a multi-threaded application. |
  | Great care and foresight ensured a robust and 'Gremlin-resistant' kiosk |
