Flexibility is one of Gary's greatest assets... Gary's resume doesn't list Java programming as one of his primary technical skills. Yet Cabeem (visit Play Games) was written in Java. This is because in 1996, when Cabeem was developed, neither Flash nor Shockwave had the high exposure and browser penetration levels they do today. Back then, Macromedia Director, the technology behind Shockwave, was mainly used to create interactive CD-ROMs. He literally learned Java overnight to write an interactive online fund graphing applet for B+R New Media, his employer at the time (please disregard the non-standard cent readings). A few weeks later he wrote Cabeem in Java because Java was present on most browsers and was accessible to most operating systems. Gary's primary concern is to offer unique and satisfying experiences to as many users as possible, and that includes reliably delivering interactive content via proven, widespread technologies. Now that Shockwave has permeated the Net, Gary intends to concentrate on developing unique, engaging multimedia experiences, most recently in the area of 3D game development. Shapion (visit Play Games) is his first step toward this goal. Gary plans to enlist the services of talented 2D and 3D artists who would enjoy working on forthcoming Shockwave games. Please drop Gary a line if you are interested. ...Innovation and efficiency are a couple more SASS and makeSite.pl are two examples of Gary's ability to identify areas of Internet and new media development that are traditionally cumbersome and time-consuming and offer novel solutions for increased efficiency. SASS is Gary's novel tool for generating accurate lip-sync cues in real time. This tool makes the traditionally laborious task of creating lip-sync cues for character animation faster and easier. It even allows lip-synched animation to be produced in a "just-in-time" production environment. makeSite.pl - still in development phase, but definitely workable (it is still used to generate the aurete.com website). In contrast to today's multi-megabyte website Creation tools, it weighs in at a total of just 13 kilobytes in size; Gary will soon enable anyone with a text editor to create and maintain a basic website. The desire to create The need to create content that is both unique and ahead of the pack in terms of execution is Gary's professional raison d'etre. Stay tuned!
