This CD-ROM, "Making Models in 3D Studio R4", was produced in partnership with Zimgraphics Ltd. and published by Autodesk Press.

By following Gary's instructions the reader will create 15 highly detailed models including various items of furniture, a classical guitar, a toy spaceship, and a desk lamp with flexible cord. By building these models, the student will learn by example about 3D Studio's powerful modeling features.

Gary's technical writing skills help him compose clear specifications, manuals, reports, proposals, and website copy.

He can present otherwise dry, technical material in a creative and appealing way. For example, Gary wrote an editorial espousing the merits of the Dvorak keyboard layout. The reader is drawn into an entertaining story about a fictional ergonomics company that has switched all office keyboards to the Dvorak layout. Interactive Java applets sprinkled throughout the editorial support the subject matter and allow the reader to experiment.
